In another bout of pretending I run a record label, Steve Krakow (AKA Plastic Crimewave) and I are partnering up with the assistance of a generous grant from local arts preservation non-profit SOTA Chicago to reissue the incredible and timeless debut LP "Machines That Kill People" by ONO. A unique mixture of Throbbing Gristle-esque pulses from the deep end, no-wave guitar collage clatter that brings to mind the lessons taught by Glenn Branca, and the churning, clanging repetitions that show foresight of the Chicago industrial music peak oncoming in the next few years, all fronted by the powerful sermon cautiously and passionately delivered by now legendary frontman Travis. This release has been in the works for almost a year and is finally available for public consumption. Sonically dusted off by boardman Cooper Crain, pressed on 150g vinyl, hand-screened replicated jackets, bi-fold poster inserts; it's all true to the original for a fraction of the price. If you are interested in experimental music or the Chicago arts in general, this is absolutely ESSENTIAL.
